Forest Guard
The Forest Guard is a Police force numbering 8,440 officers that falls under the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in Lithuania and Poland. The force is responsible for the protection and law enforcement of the many state reserves, forests and parks dotted across the Empire.The force also has jurisdiction in areas surrounding national parks and reserves and often works in co-operation with the Lithuanian and Polish Police.
The Forest Guard numbers 5,680 officers in Poland and 2,760 officers in Lithuania. Forest Guard officers use a variety of patrol vehicles and 4WD vehicles to carry out their duties. With patrols also being conducted on horseback and via helicopter. The force having at its disposal 8 helicopters and 1 fixed-wing aircraft stationed in various areas.
The main tasks of the Forest Guard include, law enforcement in state parks, protecting against poachers and illegal logging, crime prevention and protection of various historical areas within national and state parks.
