Introduction to Politics in the Imperial empire
The Imperial Empire of Poland-Lithuania is run as a multi-national Constitutional Monarchy which incorporates the personal union of two nations, the Imperial Kingdom of Lithuania and the Empire of Poland. As a result it has the distinction of being the only 'Dual-State Constitutional Monarchy' in the world, similar to what the Austria-Hungary Empire had been.
Government and politics of the Imperial Empire of Poland-Lithuania can be sub divided into three main sections.
1. The Imperial Monarchy and Imperial Council of Lords
2. The Imperial Government of the Empire of Poland
3. The Imperial Government of the Imperial Kingdom of Lithuania
Lithuania and Poland each maintain their own seperate parliament and Prime Minister. Both states are co-equal in the system, despite the monarchy being Polish. The linking or connection between the two nations being made through the Monarch and the Council of Lords. The Council of Lords being a council of ten members (known as Lord-Ministers) which is composed of five Lithuanian and five Polish politicians. Each parliament and Prime Minister swears allegiance to the Monarch and have their Foreign, Military and colonial policies dictated by the Monarch. Government and the Monarchy are all theoretically accountable to the constitution.
